Private half day tour of Vouliagmeni thermal lake and Sounio

Witness the colourful landscapes of Sounio and experience the serenity of the thermal lake of Vouliagmeni in this revitalizing half-day tour!

After picking you up from your hotel, we will begin our journey towards the vibrant area of Sounio. Sounio is located in the southern part of the Attiki region and is known for its signature rocky coastline and mesmerizing sunsets. It is also home to the magnificent landmark, the Temple of Poseidon and in addition, houses an enchanting National Park.

After exploring Sounio’s archaeological sites, from there we will head to the soothing thermal lake of Vouliagmeni which is located in what looks like a giant volcanic crater. The large body of water is an eye catching mix of black and bright turquoise, below which lie hot springs, underwater caves and a labyrinth of tunnels housing many rare sea creatures.

Although the lake may be striking to view, it is actually its reported curative properties that make it so famous. (Its high contents of Potassium, Natrium, Lithium, Ammonium, Iodine and Calcium give relief to bone, muscle and skin problems.) Needless to say, a two-hour stop here for swimming, snorkeling, sun-bathing and a delicious snack will leave you feeling invigorated.

For those that are not “morning people”, there is an option of taking this tour in the afternoon/evening time. In this case the tour would start at the thermal lake of Vouliagmeni and finish in Sounio, that way you’ll have the chance to witness its famous sunset!
